Hoswick Visitor Centre

Hoswick Visitor Centre is a community focused venue, cafe, gift shop and information centre funded by the charity SSEDco.

We are situated on the beautiful coast of Shetland's south mainland, between many of the favourite tourist spots such as Jarlshof, St Ninian's Isle and Mousa Broch as well as the two main entry points to the isles at Sumburgh and Lerwick.

Our building is a converted weaving shed, which once housed the birthplace of Shetland's weaving industry and you will find many of the original machinery right in our visitor centre.

We serve breakfast 10am - 11:30am and lunch 12pm - 3pm, as well as great coffee, tea and fabulous home made cakes.

The visitor centre also has a fantastic craft shop, giving local makers a place to display and sell their work. There is more shopping just around the corner from us, such as contemporary knitwear at Nielanell; traditional knitwear at The Shetland Woollen Co; and the workshop of Karlin Anderson's high quality jewellery.
