Alison Adcock Art and Photography

I am an abstract artist and nature photographer originally from England and now living in Shetland. I moved to Shetland to be closer to nature and weather!

My abstract painting is inspired and informed by the Shetland landscape, in particular the sea, the lochs, the hills and boat-related items. I often sketch outdoors to capture the feeling of being in a place and then back at home create a painting from the mind influenced by that feeling. I paint in acrylic with mixed media and sometimes use collage materials.

My nature photography is inspired by the wildlife of Shetland and in particular puffins, and the landscapes and moody skies. In 2026 I had a photograph selected for the Eerie Isles exhibition at the Mareel in Lerwick.
